Mahua Shankar, recipient of the prestigious “Shringar Mani” Award (2007) from Sur Shringar Samsad, Mumbai, has captivated audiences with her graceful and evocative Kathak performances at numerous renowned festivals. She also had the distinguished honour of performing at Rashtrapati Bhavan before the former President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, early in her artistic journey. In 2015, she was further honoured with the “Nritya Bhushan” Award by the Ashique Ali Khan Art & Music Charitable Trust, Delhi.
A versatile performer, Mahua has been an integral part of the Indo-French production ‘Khushboo’, where she shared the stage with eminent artists including celebrated French composer Titi Robin, sarangi maestro Ustad Murad Ali Khan, and Padma Shri Gulabo Sapera Ji. She has also presented ‘Khushboo’ across multiple cities in India in collaboration with Alliance Française (2020).

Her artistic journey is a reflection of dedication, discipline, and an ever-evolving expression of Kathak. With each performance, Mahua Shankar brings together tradition and innovation, captivating audiences through her grace and storytelling. Mahua has also represented Indian classical dance globally through ICCR tours across Africa and South America, along with performances at celebrated platforms like Sankat Mochan Festival (Varanasi), Swarmangesh Festival (Goa), and Badal Rang Festival (Bhopal), among others—continuing to leave a lasting impression on audiences worldwide.
